As Amy Ferguson walked out of the Party City on Main Street in Mt Kisco to her car, her daughters balloon blew slightly in the wind. The skies were cloudy, but shone blue. The current weather gave no indication that Westchester County and Mt Kisco are currently under a tornado watch.
The National Weather service has issued a Tornado Watch for all of Westchester County until 8 pm. This means that there is potential for a tornado, although it is not certain.
Many people are just beginning to learn about the tornado watch. Ferguson said she had just heard about the possible bad weather on her drive to the story while listening to the radio.
Its certainly worth being prepared for, Ferguson said as she pushed her daughters balloon into the back seat of the car. People should be thinking about where theyre going to go.
Residents are advised to stay in the lowest innermost room of the building they are in if conditions should worsen.
Ferguson said she wasnt too nervous about the possible adverse weather conditions, but she wasnt going to blow it off either.
Im going to keep an eye on things, she said.
