The five-year pact, which is retroactive to 2015 and runs through 2019, was finalized on April 13 and contains no raises for the first three years, the lohud.com report said.

Police officers, sergeants and detectives will get a 1 percent increase in 2018, and a 2 percent hike in the final year of the contract, the lohud.com story said.

Last year, the Empire Center for New York State Policy, a conservative think tank, ranked Ramapo police pay as the highest in the state.

According to Empire's study, on average, Ramapo police earned $173,361 in overall compensation, with overtime included, according to another lohud.com report.
