Detectives Rob Fitzgerald and Pete Louzan were interviewed by journalist Chris Hansen regarding the recent case against Ira Bernstein, 43, and his 36-year-old girlfriend Kelly Gribeluk of Airmont.

The interviews, which included the prosecutor and informant, focused on the evidence gathered by the detectives that showed the duo plotting the killing with the hitman/turned informant, offering to pay him $100,000 to run over the wife with a vehicle.

The supposed hitman who went to police after he was approached by Gribeluk, later became a witness against the former lovers.

Bernstein was recently sentenced to five to 15 years in state prison. His girlfriend received a four to 12-year sentence for her part.

Following the sentencing, Bernstein's wife said he was an "evil" man and didn't even care if their disabled daughter was killed along with her.
