A worker from Northeast Tent secures the framework of a tent Tuesday in front of the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk. The tents are for a fundraiser for the aquarium on Thursday night.
The Cirque de la Mer, or Fire and Ice, fundraiser is sold out. The aquarium will celebrate its 12th year of the Red Apple Awards Dinner, its signature gala event that directly benefits environmental education for children in underserved schools. The Red Apple Fund, the centerpiece of the aquariums commitment to marine science and environmental education, is the educational outreach and financial assistance program for students and teachers. It honors the legacy and ongoing work of individuals, organizations, foundations and businesses in education and environmental stewardship.
A cocktail party will be held in the aquariums galleries and a sit-down dinner will be served under the big top with silent and live auctions. For more information or to make a donation, visit the aquarium website.
