DARIEN, Conn. The underpass on Post Road in Darien has flooded again after Thursday afternoon's rainstorm. Police have blocked off the road to prevent any motorists from driving under the bridge and getting caught in the water.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Fairfield County through 3:15 p.m. Thursday. Areas near streams, urban areas, low underpasses and streets with low-lying spots pose the highest risk for flash flooding.
If you encounter a flooded street, you should not attempt to drive through the deepest spots. Try to find an alternate route if possible, or travel slowly through the shallowest spot in the puddle.
Thursday night should bring fog and more thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation, with a tenth to a quarter of an inch of rain expected. More rain and thunder is expected Friday and Saturday, although Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny.
