Steady rain has been falling across Fairfield County all Friday morning, and it is due to continue until about 7 p.m. But Special Officer Joe Whyte of the Fairfield Police still has to go out and do his job. So he donned his special reflective rain gear as he marked cars along the Post Road to make sure people obey the two-hour parking limit.
Thats why Im wearing this, Joe says of his reflective and waterproof hat and coat. So [drivers] can see me.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for southern Fairfield County until 3:15 p.m. Friday. It also issued a high wind warning until 11 p.m. Friday. Forecasts predict about an inch of rainfall throughout the day, but temperatures will not dip below the mid-30s, so snow and ice are not likely.
