Putnam Landmark Restaurant Red Rooster Burglarized

SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- A popular ice cream and burger drive-in was found burglarized Sunday, July 31, when employees arrived for work, state police said.

Thieves forced their way into the Red Rooster Drive-In on Route 22 early Sunday, July 31 and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

Thieves forced open a back door at the Red Rooster Drive-In on Route 22, and damaged the cash registers to get at the money inside, according to New York State Trooper Melissa McMorris. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

McMorris said anyone who may have witnessed anything unusual at the restaurant should contact state police at 845-677-7300.
