HARRISON, N.Y. -The Neuberger Museum of Art will soon be closing its critically-acclaimed special exhibitions Art in Cameroon: Sculptural Dialogues and Betsabee Romero: Lagrimas Negras on Sunday, Aug. 14. Residents still have a chance to see the works before they are taken down.
Additionally, the second floor permanent collection of the museum has been reinstalled as "When Modern Was Contemporary: Selections from the Roy R. Neuberger Collection," incorporating recent gifts from the estate of the late Roy R. Neuberger, who died in 2010, and other works not on view for some time.
The new title reflects the collecting practice of founding Neuberger, who purchased art when the paint was still wet and the artits's reputation was not yet well known as he vowed to support the contemporary artists of his time.
