RYE BROOK, N.Y. About 175 Con-Edison customers in Rye Brook and Port Chester are without power Tuesday night as a tornado watch remains in effect for the area until 11 p.m.
The majority of outages are in Port Chester, especially near Fox Island Road and South Ridge Street. In Rye Brook, nine customers are without power between Lafayette and Puritan Drive. Few outages were reported in the city of Rye.
Con Edison has issued a statement saying crews are preparing to respond to any outages that occur today or this evening due to the severe rain and windstorms. The company is reminding customers to take safety precautions and to avoid any downed power lines.
Customers can report downed power lines, outages and check service restoration status online by computer, cell phone or smart phone at www.conEd.com.They can also call 800-75CONED (800-752-6633). When reporting an outage, customers should have their Con Edison account number available, if possible, and report whether neighbors have also lost power.
