The shop, which allows customers to trade books for store credit, will be closing its doors for the last time on June 18.

Open for 25 plus years, The Bookworm says that while the books for credit deal is now suspended, those with credit already can still use it. However, it said in its post, there will be no refunds if the credit is not used up by June 19.

According to a report in the Poughkeepsie Journal, the owners are retiring and moving to warmer climes.

According to its post, the store’s owners say: “We will miss our customers and hope they keep reading.”

The Bookworm is at 1797 Route 376 (New Hackensack Road), Poughkeepsie.
