On Wednesday, Feb. 19, at around 10 a.m., authorities descended on a building at the intersection of Lawrence Street and Centre Street in connection to the investigation, according to eyewitnesses from The Monsey Scoop.

Spring Valley Police, along with the Rockland County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police, responded to the scene and can be seen in a video posted to Instagram by The Monsey Scoop. Eyewitnesses added that the Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) unit and the medical examiner were also called in as authorities investigate the possibility of homicide.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, the Spring Valley Fire Department and Orange & Rockland Utilities also reportedly responded to the location due to a gas leak at the same site. It remains unclear if the gas leak and the investigation are connected, eyewitnesses said.

Spring Valley Police are now asking residents to avoid the area.
