The village's program has a limited supply of trees available to plant and is open until Friday, Nov. 15, village representatives said in a press release.
Residents can request trees to be planted near their homes or businesses but they "must be planted only on Village owned property including sidewalk tree pits and other publicly owned space within the borders of Port Chester," representatives said in the release.
All requests will be reviewed for site location and need and final decisions will be on a first come, first served basis, according to the release. Officials added that there would be a second round of planting in the Spring.
Those who would like to request a tree be planted are asked to contact the Department of Public Works at 914-939-5207.
