Pool Break Causes West Harrison Road Closure

WEST HARRISON, N.Y. – A broken pool caused a section of Columbus Avenue from Kirby Place to Underhill Avenue to be closed as Harrison emergency crews dealt with the situation.

Harrison Police and Fire responded about 2 p.m to 44 Columbus Ave. on a call of a broken 10,000 gallon above-ground swimming pool. Police Sgt. Danny Grant  said that the bottom of the pool gave way causing water to flow from the property downhill. Grant said that some of the water got into the home’s basement.

Harrison firefighters were able to direct the water flow through one single pipe on the property to minimize the flooding. No injuries were reported.
