The campaign is finally at an end! Stamford voters have a full slate of races and candidates to choose. The polls open Tuesday at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. To find your correct polling place, go to the Stamford Board of Elections Web site.
At the top of the ballot is the race for governor and lieutenant governor pitting Republicans Tom Foley and Mark Boughton against Democrats Dan Malloy and Nancy Wyman. Also in that race are Independents Thomas Marsh and Cicero Booker Jr.
Malloy is the former Mayor of Stamford.
Four candidates are running to represent Connecticut in the U.S. Senate: Republican Linda McMahon, Democrat Richard Blumenthal, Connecticut for Lieberman candidate Dr. John Mertens and Independent Warren Mosier.
Candidates in the race for secretary of state are: Democrat Denise Merrill and Republican Jerry Farrell Jr., Green Party candidate S. Michael Rosa, Libertarian Party candidate Ken Mosher and Independent Michael J. Telesca.
The race for state treasurer includes Republican Jeff Wright, Democratic incumbent Denise Nappier, Green Party candidate S. David Bue and Independent Andrew Grant White.
Running for comptroller are: Democrat Jack Orchulli, Republican Kevin Lembo, Green Party candidate Colin D. Bennett and Independent Hugh Dolan.
The race for new attorney general features Democrat George Jepsen, Republican Martha Dean and Green/Independent Party candidate Stephen E.D. Fournier.
Congressman Jim Himes, a Democrat, is running for reelection in the state's 4th District against Republican Dan Debicella.
State Sen. Andrew McDonald, a Democrat, is running for a fifth term in the 27th District. His Republican opponent is Bob Kollenberg.
In the 36th Senate District, Scott Frantz, a Republican, is running for his first full term against Democrat Nancy Barton.
The 144th District race pits State Rep. Susana Vidan, a Democrat, against Republican Michael Molgano. In the
145th District race, Republican Fritz Blau is running against Democrat Patricia Miller.
The 146th District House contest is between Republican Kieran Ryan and Democrat Gerald Fox. The 147th District House seat is contested by Democrat William Tong and Republican Dennis Mahoney.
The 148th District House race pits Republican Phil Balestriere against Democrat Rolf Maurer, and the 149th District features Democrat Howard Richman and Republican incumbent Livvy Floren.
Also on the ballot are three races for the Stamford Board of Education contested by Democrats Richard Lyons, Geoff Alswanger and Robert E. King and Republicans Michel Bayonne, Carmine Limone and John F.X. Leydon Jr.
