The overnight parking ban has gone into effect. Any vehicle parked for more than 30 minutes between 1 and 6 a.m. will be considered to have been parked overnight and a parking ticket will be issued.
Enforcement of overnight parking is directed to the business district, town-owned parking lots and major roads. As in previous years, certain vehicles will be exempt from the ban because of the owner's work hours at various locations in town. (The list of exempt vehicles will be listed in the Shift Information Book. It is the responsibility of the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. police shift commander to ensure these vehicles are not ticketed). Shift commanders should keep the list updated.
Exceptions to the ban: Officers will not ticket vehicles in the Locust Avenue parking lot, on East Hills Drive, Mead Park, in the row adjacent to the tracks and on the west side of the Lumber Yard Parking Lot (indicated by signs), in the west side lot of the Richmond Hill parking lot (indicated by signs) and in the upper lot of the Talmadge Hill parking lot, where indicated by signs.
