Kiritimar Mistry, 49, of Wardwell Street, was charged with selling liquor to a minor Tuesday afternoon. According to police, two men who appeared to be underage got out of a vehicle and approached Shippan Liquor, 320 Shippan Avenue, where Mistry was working. One stood by the door while the other entered the store and came out shortly afterward with beer. When police approached, a third person in the vehicle drove off and left the duo. Police questioned them and determined that both were underage. The beer purchaser, who was 18, was cited for possession of alcohol by a minor. When police questioned Mistry, he said the purchaser had shown him I.D. with a 1988 birth date. However, no identification had been found on either the buyer or his companion. Mistry was given a July 27 court date to answer the misdemeanor charge.
