Plow Blade Reported Stolen Before Storm Hit

A plow blade was reported stolen from a Field Crest Road home last Tuesday, police said. The 8-foot yellow Fisher plow blade was not attached to a vehicle when it was taken from the property, police said.

Police said the complainant left his home at about 4 p.m. and noticed his plow was missing upon returning home 40 minutes later. However, a neighbor said he didn't see the plow at the man's home at about 3:45 p.m. The theft apparently took place before the third major winter storm hit Fairfield County. Police were investigating.

Also from the police blotter:

• James McGowan, 22, of W. Norwalk Road, Norwalk, was charged Saturday with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said McGowan was stopped on Millport Avenue at about 11 a.m. for allegedly having an expired vehicle registration sticker. The officer detected the scent of burned marijuana in McGowan's vehicle. Police said a search of the vehicle produced a glass pipe with a bowl end, partially burned marijuana and a marijuana pipe. McGowan was released and ordered to appear Wednesday in Norwalk Superior Court.

• Police were investigating the theft of a hockey stick from the Winter Club. Police said a 52-year-old man from Southport was at the Winter Club on Frogtown Road on Dec. 31 to play hockey. The man put his TPS Response Pro stick in a bin and left for five minutes and noticed it was missing when he came back to retrieve it. The man waited until last Tuesday before reporting that the stick, valued at nearly $230, was missing.
