The plane, a Cessna 172S with registration N5114Z, overturned after taking off at Westchester County Airport on Monday, May 18, at around 1:50 p.m., according to the FAA.
According to the agency, two people were on the plane.
The aircraft had been part of a flight school flight, according to County Communications Director Catherine Cioffi.
Minor injuries were reported, Cioffi said. The airport's main runway is open.
The FAA will investigate the incident.
