HARRISON, N.Y. - Town Judge Ronald Bianchi said last week that he would recuse himself from a case involving former Democratic Receiver of Taxes candidate Maria Polera. He said he would hand the case over to Town Judge Marc Lust.
Polera pleaded not guilty to charges of harassment and theft of services last month after police discovered she was ordering unsolicited food deliveries to Town Mayor and Supervisor Joan Walsh.
Bianchi and Polera were active members of the Democratic Party when Polera ran for receiver of taxes on Walsh's ticket in 2009. Bianchi also served as mayor of Harrison from 1998 to 2002.
The judge was recently endorsed by the Democrats in his judicial re-election bid in November.
