Veterinarian Patricia Hart can help manage pets' pain through the ancient Chinese art of medical acupuncture.
"Medical acupuncture is neither metaphysical nor does it involve energy flow, but it stimulates proven neurovascular channels in the body to help the body heal itself and decrease pain," says Dr. Hart.
Dr. Hart, along with Lauren Osborn, a certified veterinary medical massage therapist, will lead a workshop on pain management acupuncture, laser therapy medical massage for pets, Saturday, June 18, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Southport Veterinary Center, 2131 Post Road, Fairfield, Conn.
The free lecture will discuss how these non-pharmaceutical alternatives can be incorporated into "small animal practice" in order to treat chronic and painful conditions such as arthritis, back pain and sinusitis.
