Pelham Residents Without Running Water During Fix

Some Pelham residents had no running water Thursday morning while workers repaired a water main leak on Highbrook Avenue between Second Street and Boulevard.

The village enlisted Manor Paving Company to repair the leak. Owner Mike Estatico said his crew began the repairs at approximately 8 a.m. and running water had been restored by 11 a.m.

A notice on the Village of Pelham's website told residents repairs would begin at 9 a.m. Thursday and water would be restored by 4 p.m. or earlier.

Estatico said age was the primary reason for the leak.

"It's 100 years old," Estatico said. "It just cracked."
