20 Fifth Ave Pelham, N.Y. 10803 914-738-9153

The Pelham Recreation Department offers a variety of recreational programs, including tennis, fitness, basketball, chess, karate, piano and dance. Many programs meet at the Richard J. Daronco Town House. Special programs include story hour and an after-school recreation program for children in grades 4-5. The department hosts a Teen Center for grades 6-12, and a number of services, activities and classes for senior citizens. Recreation Department classes and activities are supplemented with those offered by not-for-profit groups such as Pelham Little League, Pelham Children's Theater, the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts. Recreational facilities include Glover Field, which features a soccer/football/field hockey field, and tennis courts, Ingalls Field and Franklin Fields, both located at the high school, Prospect Field, and a gazebo. Pelham residents can also participate in the park system of Westchester County, which includes sand beaches, 18-hole golf courses, swimming pools, and thousands of acres of woodland for hiking, fishing, picnicking and camping. Individuals with disabilities can participate in programs of the South East Consortium for Special Services, of which Pelham is a member.
