STAMFORD, Conn. Peggy D. Andral, 70, of Stamford died at the Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice on Thursday, Dec. 8. She was born on Nov. 6, 1941, in Norwalk.
She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years in Darien. Andral also volunteered with the Norwalk Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. In her free time she enjoyed doing arts and crafts and traveling to the Caribbean.
Andral is survived by her daughter, Susan Haynes; her son, Frederick Haynes; two sisters, Grace Johnson and Sharon Taylor; three brothers, Reginald Taylor, Carlton Taylor and Charles Taylor Jr., and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ellen Marable and Janet Taylor, and a brother, Alvin Taylor.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home in Stamford. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m. at the Norwalk United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Andrals name to the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation, the Norwalk Chapter of the NAACP or the American Cancer Society.
