PEEKSKILL, NY -- The board of directors for the Paramount Center for the Arts has announced the appointment of its new executive director.
Lisa Reiss joins the Paramount with more than 30 years of experience in the live event industry. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Penn State University and entered the entertainment industry as an associate manager for various entertainers, including Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson.
As her career progressed, she moved into venue and arts center management as executive director of the Charles Ives Center for the Arts in Danbury, Conn. and most recently as executive director of the Thousand Islands Performing Art Fund at the Clayton Opera House in Clayton, NY. In addition, Lisa is the owner and operator of Pearl Productions, a music industry consulting and booking agency located in Brookfield, Conn.
Paramount Board President Vincent C. Vesce, said he was impressed with Reiss experience and professional background.
During her years in the business, she has been directly involved with the many different aspects of running a venue such as ours and she has developed a keen understanding of what it takes to successfully run a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the arts, Vesce said. We have great confidence in her ability, which is a result of the positive track record she has recorded throughout her career. In addition, she comes to us with some hands on experience with the Paramount by already having presented acts on our stage with her production company over the past few years.
Vesce said that Reiss will assume her position at the Paramount on a full-time basis by the end of the month.
