PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Peekskill police have located a city man who went missing Friday afternoon.
Henry McClellan, an 85-year-old man police said suffers from Alzheimer's Disease, disappeared after being seen wearing pajamas in the area of John Street between 2:10 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. Friday.
"Mr. McClellan has been located and is being evaluated at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center," Peekskill Police said in a statement released on the department's Facebook page at around 9:45 p.m.
In addition to the Peekskill Police and Fire Department, Peekskill EMS and Peekskill Office of Emergency Management, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety K9 and Aviation units and the New York State Police K9 unit helped locate McClellan, Johansen said.
"McClellan was ultimately tracked down by bloodhounds and found by officers from the departments in an overgrown area just north of Belden Street," Johansen said. "He had fallen off of a six foot wall into very thick brush. It is believed he was there for several hours."
Johansen credited all the agencies involved with quickly finding the missing man.
"There is no question the efforts of all of the Emergency Responders contributed to his being located in good condition," he said. "The City of Peekskill Police would like to thank the Westchester County and New York State Police for their assistance."
