PEEKSKILL, N.Y. A Peekskill man has been charged with attempting to rob a resident at knifepoint, according to police.
Jamil Bristow, 18, of Peekskill was arrested on July 28 at 11:30 a.m. and charged with first-degree robbery, a class B felony, first-degree attempted robbery, a class C felony, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. The arrest was made by Detective Ralph DAliso.
Bristow is accused in the attempted robbery of an individual on Washington Street, police said. The victim fled after Bristow allegedly pulled a large knife and demanded money, police said. Bristow entered a residence on Dyckman Street. According to the police report, responding officers surrounded the house and took Bristow into custody without incident.
During an investigation of the robbery, evidence was recovered linking Bristow to another armed robbery in the same neighborhood several days earlier, police said. During the previous robbery, Bristow allegedly stole a pocketbook at knifepoint from a female as she walked on Requa Street.
Bristow was held for arraignment in City Court, where bail was set at $2,000.
