PEEKSKILL -- The city has announced its 2011 Sidewalk Replacement Program that city officials hope will promote the replacement of existing sidewalks that are in poor condition.
Applications for the program may be obtained as of Sept. 27 at the Department of City Services in City Hall between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Applications will also be available on the citys website, www.cityofpeekskill.com. All applications should be returned to the Department of City Services.
If the total cost to repair abutting sidewalks of eligible property owners who apply for program by Oct. 14 exceeds the available funding of $400,000, the properties chosen for the program shall be chosen by lottery.
The city will continue to accept applications for this program after Oct. 14 subject to the availability of funding. Applications received after October 14 will be processed in the order received for as long as funding remains available or until the program is discontinued.
