Hoffman worked at the Community Nursery School of Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church for 15 years. She loved taking care of children, her home and her husband.
She "was a very warm, humble, selfless and caring person," said information from the Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home. "She was known to be gracious and would go out of her way to make sure others were comfortable."
Hoffman is survived by her husband, Daniel Hoffman; children Lisa Schaller and her husband Jeff of Rochester, Mark Hoffman and his wife Kathleen of Westtown, Robert Hoffman and his wife Milena of White Plains, and Scott Hoffman and his wife Cristina of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren, Jessica Mercedes Schaller, Morgan Paige Schaller, Jason Daniel Schaller and Brandon Hunter Hoffman; mother-in-law Jessie Hoffman; sister Roberta Diggins and her husband Matt; brother-in-law Michael Hoffman and his wife Phyllis; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mercedes and Albert Pisano, and a grandson, Alexander Charles Schaller.
Visiting hours will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main St., in Wappingers Falls. A mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Rd., in Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Avenue, in Poughkeepsie.
