POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Paul B. Williams of Poughkeepsie died Monday, Feb. 1, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 87.
He was born March 16, 1928, in Troy. He was the son of the late Donald Z. and Martha (Getman) Williams. He married Suzanne Irons on Oct. 13, 1974, in Poughkeepsie. He was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and a graduate of RPI in 1950. He was employed by IBM Poughkeepsie as an engineer and retired in 1988.
Formerly a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Poughkeepsie, he then became a member of the Freedom Plains United Presbyterian Church in Lagrangeville and served as a deacon and an elder of the church. He was also a member of the Model Train Collectors Association and the Mid-Hudson Radio Control Club.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Williams of Poughkeepsie; son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey D. and Chelle Williams of Issaquah, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law Kevin P. and Anne Williams of Aurora, Colo.; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer A. and Drew Barry of Poughkeepsie; son and daughter-in-law Jonathan S. and Maura McAnney of Gibsonia, Pa.; son and daughter-in-law James B. and Quinn McAnney of Montgomery; brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Jeannine Williams of Poughkeepsie; sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Albert Maher of Poughkeepsie; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, at noon at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave., Poughkeepsie. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at Freedom Plains United Presbyterian Church, Route 55, Lagrangeville. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.
