Patsy 'PP' Plescia, Stamford WWII Veteran

STAMFORD, Conn. – Patsy "PP" J. Plescia of Stamford died Aug. 5 surrounded by family. He was 85. 

He was born Jan. 17, 1927 in Port Chester, N.Y., to Anthony and Florence Tigano Plescia. He served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Pickaway. He then started his career with the Laborers International Union of North America Local 235 in 1955. Plescia worked as a laborer until his retirement in 1989. 

He is survived by three daughters, Patricia "Patty" Zaccagnino, of Stamford, Denise "Dee" (Efrain) Roman, of Stamford, and Margaret "Peggy" (Angel) Oquendo, of Florida; a sister-in-law, Mary O'Hagan Corrigan, of Greenwich; a sister-in-law, Judith O'Hagan, of North Carolina; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His wife, Margaret "Peggy" Ann O'Hagan, predeceased him. 

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory in Stamford. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday. A burial service will then be held at Woodland Cemetery in Stamford. Services will conclude with military honors.
