BEDFORD, N.Y. - At approximately 9:25 a.m. on Monday, a Connecticut Honda Pilot, driving south on Route 684 in Bedford near the exit to the Saw Mill River Parkway, blew a rear tire.
New York State Trooper Joe Izzo explained that the driver struck the median and the car flipped onto its side. The airbags fully deployed. A passing driver stopped to help the passengers out of the car.
The Bedford Fire Department and Ambulance Corps arrived, along with the New York State troopers. The accident victims were checked by emergency medical technicians. Neither the driver nor her two children incurred any injuries.
It was amazing, said Trooper Izzo. Not even a scratch.
