In an effort to create more space for drivers, the City of New Rochelle put 18 new metered spots at the Union Avenue parking lot. The changes are meant to create a quick turnover for weekday drivers. From Monday through Friday, drivers will pay 50¢ an hour for up to three hours. An overnight fee of $2 will be charged for drivers looking to park between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Weekend use of the parking lot remains restricted to those with special parking permits.
The Union Avenue parking lot is located at Union Avenue between First and Second Streets.
