'Dora,' 'Tales Of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Canceled By Paramount

Paramount+ is cutting back on kids’ TV, and two high-profile animated series are paying the price.

Paramount is ending both "Dora" and "Tales Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" as part of a programming shakeup tied to the company’s merger with Skydance.

Industry newsletter The InSneider was first to report that Paramount is ending both "Dora" and "Tales Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" as part of a programming shakeup tied to the company’s merger with Skydance.

The decision is part of a broader move away from children’s content that has rippled through Nickelodeon Animation Studios.

"Dora" is a CG-animated revival of the long-running preschool hit "Dora The Explorer." The new series had already been renewed earlier this year, but that order has now been reversed, effectively canceling the show as the company reshapes its streaming slate.

"Tales Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," an animated spinoff of the 2023 film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem," will wrap up with its second season. The series follows the four Turtles in New York City and serves as a bridge between the movie and its planned sequel.

The move comes despite strong critical reception. The first season of "Tales Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" holds a 100 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, reflecting praise for its animation, action, and voice work.

Season 2 is still expected to premiere in December 2025 on Paramount+, but it will now serve as the show’s final chapter.
