Just as those flowers were starting to show signs of blooming, Mother Nature delivered a cruel blow.

Much of Putnam and Dutchess and the surrounding area woke to a blanket of snow Sunday morning, though most of the white stuff was gone by afternoon. Then there was just that wind to deal with, as gusts occasionally picked up.

But there's more coming.

A possible snow and rain mix is expected in the area Monday, with 1-3 inches possible in areas where the snow sticks, as temps hover in the high 30s until evening, when they drop into the 20s.

Look for better weather coming Tuesday, with sun and temps in the high 30s to low 40s, and Wednesday looks party cloudy with temps in the 30s. Temperatures were expected to climb into the 60s by the end of next weekend.
