RYE, N.Y. - The Rye Fire Department and the County Health Department are investigating an oil leak in Rye's Blind Brook discovered behind Rye High School Friday morning.
The Fire Department arrived at the brook at about 8:30 a.m. and left 45 minutes later. According to a Fire Department official, the response team deployed oil absorbent booms along two points on the river. The source of the oil remains unknown and the Fire Department has since turned the investigation over to the Health Department.
