Dariens Kate OHearn-Lyons set a course record Saturday night in winning the New Canaan Mile. She ran 5:41 and won by two seconds over Zofia Wieciorkowska. Dan Lennox of Bedford, N.Y., won the mens race in 4:50.1. Anatolie Vartosu of Stamford took second in 4:50.9.
There were 49 finishers in the mens race, and 22 finishers in the womens race. The race was sponsored by New Balance of New Canaan and proceeds benefited the New Canaan High School scholarship fund.
