NORWALK, Conn. A Norwalk student placed fifth in the Connecticut Science Fair in the physical science division. Zachary Guerrera, an eighth-grader at All Saints Catholic School, created "A Bridge Too Strong." He received a trophy and an invitation to compete in the Broadcom Masters Competition in September in Washington, D.C.
More than 15,000 middle and high school students competed for 476 spots at the Connecticut state competition. Of the 476, a total of 202 were chosen as finalists. The finalists were interviewed by the judges Thursday. The winners were announced at an awards ceremony Saturday.
