Norwalk: Severe Thunderstorm Possible

NORWALK, Conn. – While we are all worried about Hurricane Irene, the city of Norwalk has a warning: the NOAA Storms Prediction Center has placed Connecticut into the slight risk category for severe thunderstorms this afternoon. The primary threats from any storms that develop will be a 15 percent chance of strong winds and/or hail and a 2 percent chance of an isolated weak tornado.

The Weather Channel says showers and thunderstorms will continue through early evening. It is predicted to be mostly cloudy with temperatures steady near 80. Winds will be SSW at 10 to 15 mph.
