NORWALK, Conn. The Norwalk Riptide 14-and-under softball team defeated Danbury, 5-0, Thursday at Norwalk High School to improve to 6-1 in the Fairfield County Fastpitch Softball League.
The Riptide also beat the Fairfield Fury, 5-1, on Wednesday and stands in second place in the FCFSL. They are one of several teams in the league with one loss. The Riptide's only setback is a 8-0 decision to The Xplosion, the league's only undefeated team.
Norwalk begins play in the Babe Ruth state tournament next Friday against Stamford in New Milford. The winner advances to the New England Regional beginning July 29 in Lynn, Mass.
