"We know that scammers and fraudsters are changing how they prey on consumers more quickly every day," Rilling said. "That’s why we want to make sure you get the information you need to protect yourself before something happens that may cost you your hard earned money."
The commissioner will offer some tips for consumers to follow to make sure they’re protected. He will also residents' questions about issues they may be having that is connected to an office that he oversees.
In addition, representatives of Direct Energy Solar will be on hand to encourage all Norwalk property owners to consider solar. And, New England Smart Energy Group will attend to offer free LED light bulbs to the first 100 participants.
The event will be held at 10 a.m. in the Community Room at Norwalk City Hall.
