Norwalk Groups Applaud Mathews Park Improvements

NORWALK, Conn. — We are writing to express our deep appreciation to Mayor Richard A. Moccia, Common Council members, Alan Lo from the Engineering and Construction Division, Mike Mocciae from Recreation and Parks, Susan Sweitzer from the Redevelopment Agency, and other city officials and staff for the major improvements they have made in and around Mathews Park.

By demolishing the former police station and bringing back the majesty of the Great Lawn, Mathews Park is quickly becoming the incredibly beautiful central park that Norwalk citizens have envisioned for so long. We are extremely grateful for their early insight, determination and the actions they have taken to ensure that Norwalk's children and their families have a safe and educational outdoor space to play, learn, relax and grow up in. As tenants of Mathews Park, we know first-hand that the City of Norwalk's investment in Mathews Park will be returned in significant, multifaceted ways for generations to come.

On behalf of our organizations and the hundreds of thousands of visitors we serve each year, please accept our heartfelt gratitude for transforming Mathews Park into the beloved destination it was meant to be. We look forward to future opportunities to host citywide programs, celebrations and events in Mathews Park with great anticipation.

Sincerely,
