NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., - J. Fletcher Creamer and Son Contractors worked the past day and a half to replace an old non-working fire hydrant with a new one on North Ave between Elizabeth Ave, Wykagyl Terrace, and Disbrow Ave.
A concrete truck and tractor bull-dozer were brought in to dig up the pavement in order to connect underground pipes with the hydrant.
The roadway is now back to four lanes with two going in each direction after cones detoured drivers to one lane each throughout the day Tuesday and all morning Wednesday.
Workers are now done with work in the city and have moved on to other projects.
