NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. Joe and Deborah Cestone were two voters of a steady stream of voters midday Tuesday.
Joe cast his ballot because he is a tax paying citizen, wants the best representation possible in city government, and cares about being heard. We all have a stake in it, he said.
New Rochelle United Methodist Church election inspector Patti Gibson saw a normal day. Gibson expected volume to pick up, slow down, then increase particularly right after work from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. "It's sort of cycical," she said.
Nancy Morales, New Rochelle Public Library bilingual coordinator said District 81 saw five votes while 30 had been counted in the 19th precinct. Morales also said she heard other voters were unaware of the recent re-districting in essence losing votes.
Various other polling locations throughout the city, saw steady streams as of 1 p.m. Polls close at 9 p.m. Locations for polling places can be found on the Find Your Polling Place, link on the city of New Rochelle website at newrochelleny.org.
