NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. Todd Ziogas brought his four children to watch and learn about different animal species during the New Rochelle Public Librarys Talk to the Animals" with Animal Embassy in the buildings meeting room Wednesday.
We enjoy the activities at the library, said Ziogas. The animals were a special treat for the kids.
The New Rochelle Public Library gave students the opportunity by bringing in Animal Embassy Director and Founder Chris Evers to take families around the world with a group of live, rescued animals from a variety of habitats.
My job is very important, Evers told the crowd of parents and children who gathered in the librarys meeting room to learn about different types of animal species. My favorite thing is to travel around the world.
Evers taught those in attendance about how a variety of frogs, milk snakes, chinchillas and green iguana communicate with each other, other animals and humans.
Wednesday was Evers' second visit to the library, but Community Relations Coordinator Barbara Davis already has plans to bring him back for future visits.
Hes going to be a perennial. The lessons he gives are priceless, Davis said. Chris has just the utmost respect for the animals. The way he communicates that to the children and parents is unprecedented.
Wednesdays event was made possible by the Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library.
