Curated by Veronica Santi, “Before the Sound” is an interactive sound installation composed by four multi channel speakers, projection, photographs, drawings and a bed as a center piece, where the spectator can sit or lay down.
According to the Gallery, Zambrano recorded the breathing of his foster son while sleeping, as well as his wife’s breathing. Additionally, he recreated a generic sound of breathing to represent the presence of the birth mother.
The spectators will be able to get up close and personal with the various orchestrated breathing sounds—the artist intended the installation to allow spectators into his own personal world, according to the release.
The event is free, but attendees much RSVP to attend the opening reception. For more information or to RSVP please contact: [email protected] or (914) 413 1120.
The opening will take place at Reverol & Co. Contemporary Art Gallery on 300 Huguenot Street in New Rochelle, NY.
