New Education Programs To Start At Fairfield Museum

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The school year is just around the corner and the Fairfield Museum and History Center is ready to welcome another wave of school groups and educators through its doors.

This fall, the museum will unveil a new interactive exhibit that explores four centuries of local and regional history entitled, “Creating Community: Exploring 375 Years of Our Past.”

“We are eager to open the exhibit for teachers who will see firsthand how the artifacts, themes and activities can engage the students and reinforce curriculum," director of education and community programs Christine Jewell said in a statement.

The next informational meeting for those interested in becoming museum docents will be at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 20.

Located at 370 Beach Road, the Fairfield Museum and History Center is open seven days a week (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. wekdays and noon to 4 p.m. weekends). Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors. Members of the museum and children are free.
