The Easter weekend's arrival means you will likely have to wait until Monday to conduct town business.
New Canaan offices in Town Hall and Vine Cottage and at Irwin Park will close at 3 p.m. Thursday and remain closed Friday in observance of Good Friday, a state holiday. Irwin Park houses the planning and zoning, inland wetlands and building departments as well as the youth services office. Town offices will reopen Monday.
The towns transfer station will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Friday. The New Canaan Library will be open its usual hours Friday and Saturday but will be closed Sunday for Easter.
New Canaan Public Schools and St. Aloysius School are closed for the week for spring break. St. Lukes School will be closed Friday in observance of Good Friday. New Canaan Country School will be open Friday, an exchange day because of snow days taken earlier in the school year. Country School students observing the holiday will be excused from classes and homework assignments, said Jennifer Christensen, a school spokeswoman.
