Let's all say a big thank you to Boy Scout Kyle J. Gerardi, who earned an Eagle Scout Award for his community service project. The New Canaan High School senior, who has been a scout since kindergarten, took on the landscaping challenge behind the Congregational Church. He turned the former eyesore into a park-like setting by planting trees, evergreens and plants and installing a bench and stone path.
Designer Terry Scarborough of New Canaan's family-run DEANE was recognized by Country Living Magazine, which featured her gardening garage design on the cover of its current issue.
Devon Flemming is planning springtime cooking and nutrition classes at Aitoro.
Hats off to Allie Potenza, who just won a Connecticut Drama Award for best stage manager at this past weekend's Connecticut Drama Festival. The vocal and drama student just wrapped up her performance as TRIX the Aviatrix in New Canaan High School's musical "Drowsy Chaperone," which is up for an award at the prestigious Connecticut High School Musical Theater Awards in June. Good luck to the entire cast and crew!
Congratulations to Ken Campbell, who was elected to the Connecticut Association of Mortgage Professionals board of directors for 2011.
Longtime New Canaan resident Kathy McShane is lending her helping hands to Habitat for Humanity.
