New Canaan neighbors saw springtime blessings and triumphs over the past week.
While some local young ladies were getting pretty for the "Project Runway" fashion show benefit last weekend, the New Canaan High School Ski Team was awarded a trophy for ranking first in its division in the Courtney Cole Connecticut Interscholastic Ski League. Jeffery Cole, Jenny Curt, Chuck Anderson, Temerson Alexander, Wilson Fleming, Kyle Isherwood, Megan Paul, Avery Anthony and Jack Schlegel presented the trophy to team coach Jay Egan at a private ceremony March 31. Proud mom and professional baker Kristen Anderson made sure they had a sweet way to celebrate, baking a photo cake for the occasion. Bravo to this spectacular group of teens for an impressive first year on the slopes.
Let's root for the YMCA Caiman Swim Team: 22 members are competing in the YMCA Nationals in Florida through Friday. See how they're doing by following live results online at www.ymcaswimminganddiving.org.
Our animal neighbors welcomed a new addition to their community. Congratulations to the New Canaan Nature Center, the proud parent of baby chicks that just hatched this week. Swing by and visit the fuzzy-feathered babes for a springtime treat.
