DARIEN, Conn. A number of cars were broken into on Outlook Drive in Darien last Tuesday, June 14. One couple told police they came out of their house at 6:30 a.m. to go to work and found that the front passenger window of their Lexus had been smashed, and the contents of the glove box were emptied onto the seat. Nothing appeared to have been taken. Their Mercedes, which had been left unlocked, had also been searched, but nothing was taken. The two other cars in the driveway had not been touched.
Police received a call that another resident of Outlook Drive had gone to his unlocked car at 7:50 a.m. and found the center console open and the contents dumped on the passenger seat, but nothing was taken. While police were canvassing the neighborhood, they found a fourth car, which had also been left unlocked, had been searched in the same manner.
On nearby Seagate Road, an unlocked Mercedes was entered, and a cell phone and pair of prescription sunglasses were taken as well as about $2.25 in quarters.
